Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce

Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce | by Life Tastes Good #fish #healthy Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce is easy to make and oooh the lemon butter sauce is divine! If you don't tell the kids it's fish, you just might be able to get them to eat it! (I'm not making any promises though) You can even convert those adults who turn their nose up to fish! I know because I am one of THOSE haters!

When it comes to fish, I'm like that guy Sam I Am pesters to eat the green eggs and ham! What was that character's name?? Anyone remember? I'm not even sure he had a name (narrator maybe?) Anyhoo, that's me! I do not like fish in a house, with a mouse, here or there, or anywhere!

Yep, anything 'fishy' would send me straight to the cupboard for PB&J (and I'm just a little ashamed to admit that). I don't remember how or why I tried Tilapia, but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with 'the experts' saying fish is good for you and me wanting to eat like an "adult" or maybe I had a fever... Who knows? Either way, I tried it and surprised myself! I liked it!! I really liked it!! So if you know someone like me, do them a favor...make this and invite them for dinner! They'll LOVE you for it!! Of course, you might have to trick them into eating it...but once they get over that they'll thank you <3

Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce

  • 1 1/2 pounds Tilapia Fillets (4-6 fillets)
  • 1 tablespoon + 1/2 teaspoon flour, divided
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt. I used Chef Paul Prudhomme's Seafood Magic
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup white wine (I use Sake)
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Put 1 tablespoon flour and 1 teaspoon seasoned salt into a resealable baggie. Place fish in the baggie and shake to coat lightly.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Place coated fish in skillet and cook for 3 minutes. Don't move it around. Just let it cook for 3 minutes.
  3. Add 1 more tablespoon butter to the pan and let it melt. Tilt the pan back and forth to spread the butter throughout the pan. Carefully flip the fish over. Cook for 3 minutes more until golden and flakes easily. Transfer fish to serving platter and set aside.
  4. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the same skillet and add 1/3 cup white wine and juice from 1/2 a lemon. Bring to a slow boil and add in 1/2 teaspoon flour. I like to sprinkle it evenly over top of the sauce and then whisk until thickened. Add 1 tablespoon parsley. Taste the sauce and add a very small pinch of salt and pepper. Give it another taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.
  5. Serve the Lemon Butter Sauce over the Tilapia and enjoy! This is best served along side Pasta with Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto
Yield: 4-6 Servings
Prep Time: 10 mins.
